Nicholas Kraus is an award-winning cinematographer who has crafted expressive frames across nonfiction and narrative films, TV series, commercials, and music videos. Nicholas also spent three years as the in-house cinematographer for Vice News Tonight on HBO where he was nominated for multiple Emmy's, and most recently shot Bad Influence, a Netflix docuseries exploring the perils of “kidfluencing", which charted #1 globally.
With a strong reputation for collaboration and innovation, Nicholas -- or "Nick" as he's best known -- is committed to maintaining a thoughtful and efficient cinematographic approach while adapting to the needs of a scene and budget – whether on set in LA or camped out in an Alaskan village. He owns comprehensive and scalable camera & lighting packages featuring a Canon C400 – compact enough for intimate verite sequences or robust enough for small-scale agency projects. He also holds an FAA drone pilot license, PADI open water & HEFAT certifications, as well as a degree in socio-cultural anthropology from Columbia University. More importantly, he can crack jokes in Spanish and ride a segway while shooting. Raised in Nashville, Nicholas spent a decade in NYC and is now based in LA.
